The Office S05E13

This has got to be the funniest The Office episode I have ever seen.

Somewhat Dwight's revenge for his colleagues' indifference towards his fire safety talk; he stages a fire and blocks all the exits and attempts to let his colleagues learn via experience. Just looking at the mayhem it caused, I laughed till my sides split.

Michael even threw the OHP to break the window (which meant the OHP landed in the carpark). Simply hilarious.

Later, Dwight even tried to harvest the organs of a CPR dummy with horrific results.

I saw the episode three times so far. =)

Pity I couldn't find the clip on Youtube for you guys...

No Way Out

Nowadays, vintage is definitely the "in" thing. Check out HY's entry which has lots of vintage photos; had a good time laughing while reading it.

On the other hand, I've been having really weird dreams lately. Nice, but definitely weird. =S

Of Dim Sum And Jumps

The Girls met up for another gathering for Joy's farewell on the 28th of June.

As mentioned, the theme for this gathering was 'caps' and a couple of us kept to the theme though not all of us kept it on throughout the journey.

My most 'on' moment.

Anyway, we had to draw lots to see who would wait for Serene and who to meet Joy at the restaurant directly. In the end, the hungry people (Wan Yee, Suting and I) ended up waiting. But before that, we got a little parting gift for Joy - a Little Miss Sunshine pouch!

The people who got to the food first...

... versus the hungry people, lol!

You can't see from this picture, but HY's arm was shaking!

ALL OF US!

Both WY and Joy left early because they had a flight to catch and another meeting respectively. Coincidentally, both were flying off by the end of the June! In the end, we made an impromptu decision to go Haw Par Villa, which I think was much safer than going cycling at ECP. JJ and I were very relieved at this impromptu idea.

After our bus ride, we reached Haw Par Villa! It's been ages since I have been here and to be honest, I can't really remember what changed and what hasn't. I can only remember certain statues and the boat ride into The 10 Courts of Hell, which has been replaced by a walk-in tour instead. While admission to Haw Par Villa was free, we had to pay $1 to enter Hell which prompted Serene to remark that the uncle set up his own stall there! LOL!

The weather was really hot that day so it's a miracle I still look presentable in the photos taken.

Dragon babies!

Outside The 10 Courts of Hell.

So this is why JJ took up aerobics... haha!

Great time spent with The Girls! =D

P.S. Thanks HY for saying that I'm cool! =P

Across The New Divide

TROTF

I saw Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen! It's great!

The movie starts with lots of action, with the remaining Autobots working with the military as part of a top secret section - Nest Ops. Together, they hunt down the remaining Decepticons still hiding on Earth. It's been two years since the first movie - where the Autobots and Sam defeated the Decepticons - and Sam is ready for college. Dealing with the usual teenage anxieties in college, he starts having visions of strange symbols which he later discovers leads to an alternate energy source brought to Earth by a species of Autobots, the Primes, millions of years ago. The Decepticons, led by their leader-in-hiding, the Fallen, tries to get hold of Sam to find the location of the energy source, in a bid to rebuild the Decepticon race.

Where do I start?

Alice or that hot girl who tried to seduce Sam in college is super scary! There's definitely more than meets the eye with that kinda girl. I liked how they resurrected this ancient Decepticon, a BlackBird jet aka Jetfire, with all the rusty parts and they even teleported! Though they were initially fearful of Jetfire, they later found out he switched sides to be an Autobot. It's all about choice! The ending that included the sacrifice of Jetfire was really touching. Never thought you could tear up in a movie full of robots, right? Oh, the mini Decepticon probe that Mikaela caught is super cute too! Upon hearing that robots can switch sides, he tugged on her leg, like some little puppy! The twin Autobots (ice cream truck) were good too; loved the surprise they did after one of them got sucked in the destructive Decepticons.

Plus, I've only just realized that Optimus Prime is a type of Autobot, I thought Prime was just a name - now I know it's a species. Strange how it's always the Decepticons doing the cool stuff, like morphing together to form a LARGE machine, or just morphing from hundreds tiny steel balls to form an even larger Decepticon. Amazing. 4 out of 5 stars.

There's a great soundtrack too! With Linkin Park, The All-American Rejects, Nickelback and Green Day, to name a few... new thing to obsess on! =)

Dude von Dudenstein

ILYM

Saw the latest bromantic comedy, I Love You, Man.

It's about this man, Peter Klaven, who's about to get married but realizes he does not have a best man because he has always been the girl-friend kind of guy. He engages the help of his brother (who happens to be gay) and goes on a series of man-dates with wild and hilarious encounters, which includes a guy sticking his tongue down his throat. Eww! Then he meets Sydney Fife, a charming guy's guy whom he instantly bonds with. The interesting bits of the show starts when Peter first tries to ask Sydney out - the way he hesitates makes you think that he was leaving a voice message for a girl! Also, he starts developing all these hilarious weird phrases he's never even used before in his life - eg. "I will see you there, or I will see you on another time!", "Totally... totes magotes". As the two men get closer, the relationship between Peter and his girlfriend suffers. The two guys spent "some time away from each other" and the best thing is, Sydney still did turn up for Peter's wedding and they two re-affirm their platonic friendship to each other. 3 and a half out of 5 stars.

Oozing Caramel

SKY met up for dinner yesterday! It's been a long, long time since I saw Yan Bing!

Headed over to F.I.S.H. for their salad buffet. After about four to five servings, we were rather full. Though I think we reserved some space for their delicious-looking cakes. We only took pictures of the first servings as we were rather busy eating thereafter. I must say the Mediterranean salad was delicious! While we were taking our last servings, I thought the manager must be thinking: "what great eaters they are!"

Yummy caramel fudge cake! Look at the caramel "overflowing"... Perfect for sharing!

Oh, I met Kok Tiong (former Com Club chairman) in the bus earlier. Ah! Why can't I meet people when I'm looking better? He even recognized me in my spectacles. Looks like I must dispel the notion that I'm unrecognizable in my specs. *dispel dispel*

By the way, I just saw Elvin Ng die on TV just now. He looks so pale and sounds so hoarse. Sigh...

Where's My Star?

Strange thing is, this holiday, I've been dining out with Shi Zhen and Vernon a lot.

Anyway, that's us at F.I.S.H. on 13th June. I loved my codfish set! We also had Frolick yoghurt ice cream for dessert because "we" wanted to see pretty girls. =)

Last night, I had my first conference telephone call with the Girls - Hui Yan, Jia Jin, Joy, Suting, Serene and Wan Yee. We were deciding on the activities to be done on Sunday, where we'll be holding a proper farewell for our dear Joy. When it came to deciding on the "sporty" aspect of our outing, I realized JJ and I are almost similarly CMI. Haha, which reminds me of a remark YC made that if it were the end of the world, I'm only dependent on my pair of legs. Yup, we even had a theme for our outing - caps. We're seriously theme-crazy, though not to the extent of 'cats', 'pads' and other similar sounding words. =P

Totally looking forward to this Sunday!

To The World ~

Yay, I finally saw State of Play!

It's actually a pretty complicated story, about how the apparent suicide or murder of a congressman's lead researcher/mistress leads to the unravelling of a corporate conspiracy. The lead reporter in the story happens to have had a turbulent relationship with the congressman in the past and as he tries to get behind the truth, their lives are all at risk.

Personally, I wanted to watch this movie because of Rachel McAdams! It's been so long since I saw her onscreen and Singapore didn't air both her movies produced last year, so this is the first one since Red Eye. But the story was intriguing and just when you thought everything was solved, another loophole appears and there you have it - the actual perpetuator acting as the victim. Sometimes, the means used to get the means to the end won't go according to plan. Sounds complicated, right? Well, you wouldn't understand unless you saw the movie. 3 and a half out of 5 stars.

On another note, I completed We Got Married... well, those parts with Kim Hyun Joong and Hwangbo only, to be precise. Already, I'm missing the Joongbo/Ssangchu (Lettuce) couple!! They make me laugh every time I watch the episodes, especially with their extreme competitive streaks! Their 'act cute' (aegyo) poses and KHJ's honest-till-funny replies...

That's them in Japan, while he's recording for his SS501 Japan album. He went out in his Pooh costume and both of them did funny things in the costume/props shop! Like their signature techtonik dance steps. LOL!

Here's them at an amusement park with their disguises that drew more attention instead. Their rollercoaster ride was super hilarious as they were competing who could stay expressionless. They were letting their emotions all hang out, and towards the end, they were all controlling like mad. By the end of the ride, they were sitting there nonchalantly!

Haha, that's them improvising the showerheads as microphone stands. They also did the 'Nobody' dance!

Those were from the farewell trip, and I thought the phone conversation between them and the horses were amusing!

Awww... I wanna rewatch! =D
